How The Fire Was Lit
In 2019, inspired by BBQ Pitmasters, Troy joined his first BBQ competition with a bowling buddy as “TC BBQ.” But when his friend had a last-minute emergency, Troy called his wife, Jen, for help. Despite the chaos, they placed 7th in chicken and were hooked. Inspired by their love for Pit Bulls, they rebranded as “Pittie Q BBQ.”
Over four years, Pittie Q dominated the Backyard Division with multiple wins before advancing to the Master Series in 2023, achieving even greater success, including a Grand Championship and a perfect Turkey score.
When Two Worlds Collide
Pittie Q’s journey deepened at the 2019 LIVIN Music Festival’s BBQ competition. A festival supporting mental health awareness and suicide prevention. After Jen’s best friend, LB, tragically passed in 2020, the festival took on greater meaning. By 2023, Troy and Jen began running the event, forging a partnership with LIVIN founder Paul Thomas, who helped them launch Pittie Q BBQ’s first location at the B-Dale Club in December 2023.
